Latest news – 100 million people in India are with diabetes and a further equal number are Pre-Diabetic and a large unknown population doesn’t even know they are diabetic.

I wonder what it’s like to Pitch for a healthcare startup to raise funds from VCs. Also, what do VCs expect out of this startup after investments? Become a unicorn which means there is a large market opportunity, it’s scalable fast for the startup with profits and multiple X returns.

SOME PEOPLE’S MISFORTUNE, IS OTHER PEOPLE’S FORTUNE.

The tagline for such a startup- is ‘ WITH YOU, FOR YOU, ALWAYS. CONSUME FEARLESSLY’

Problem statement: 100 million Diabtetic and further 100 million Pre-Diabetic-

Urbanization, disposable income, middle-class spending, and the explosive growth of products laden with sugar ranging from Juices, ice creams, and pastry products to packaged sweets, chocolates, and literally everything while meeting FSSAI norms.

Tag lines for all these products: “ LIFE IS SHORT, MAKE IT SWEET’

TAM: Entire population of 1420 Million SAM 500 million SOM – 220 MM

CAGR Growth of XX % for the next couple of decades. Explosive growth opportunities for our products/Solutions

Competition Slide: No Problem. With the entire population likely to be diagnosed with diabetes in the near future it’s a. potentially sugary opportunity for our great solution and there is abundant revenue for all companies.

Solution 1: Our wearable device which tracks real-time glucose levels

Solution 2: X, Y, Z product to reduce, mitigate or reverse the problem

Solution 3: Platform to connect doctors with patients and so on

Solution 4: App to remind people to reduce screen time, stand up after every half hour and move their bodies.

Here is our expert TEAM, Profitable unit economics, business model, and so on.

This is a serious problem but people make choices as individuals to consume them or as parents to feed the infants and children with such products.

If “we are what we eat’ and we are aware of the consequences, then sweetness as an incentive has to stop or be minimized right from childhood.

India is the largest sugar-producing country and this won’t reduce. The unstoppable marketing & distribution machine of sugary products will only grow. They sell emotions and not products.
